Here is a sneak peak of my Gaara Cosplay for Anime Evolution 2007!
I had to design the shoes from scratch so I made a design for the top part and then sewed it together and attached it to a pair of sandal shoes that I got from the Thrift store (bottom middle picture). I used a black stretch corduroy fabric; I used the other side because I liked that texture for it better. The cuffs were stuffed with batting to make them look thicker. I tried to stick as close as I could to the original design of the shoe but had to add a velcro opening at the top to get my foot in. To attach the top to the bottom I used fabric glue and special nails that I got from a shoe repair store (bottom left picture).
I still have so much to do for my costume (especially since I am doing half transformed Gaara!) and not a lot of time to do it in! Well hope to see lots of you there at Anime Evolution! And if you have any questions on the making of the shoes I'd be happy to answer them!

Well they do actually market them ..they have them at some stores that i've seen but i decided to make my own because the ones they sell are kinda cheap looking for $25! But you can always get them off ebay and such! Or off some online stores!! Hope you finds some !!
